A gem and feat of American cinema, By Hook or By Crook is a lo-fi, poetic buddy-comedy that showcases the pain that two trans men are separately coping with—together! After an overconfident Shy (Silas Howard), loses his father and becomes houseless, he turns to a life of petty crime where he convinces his new friend, a very lovable, naive, and broken Valentine (Harry Dodge), to join forces with him. While Valentine struggles to track down his birth mom, Shy’s guise falls through the cracks and both men are left alienated from society but with each other as valiant companions.
