Q&A with director of short film Birds of a Feather, Katie Cobos, before the feature on March 16th.

Directed by Naoko Yamada (A Silent Voice, Liz and the Blue Bird), The Colors Within follows Totsuko, a high schooler who experiences the auras of other people as colors. Captivated by the colors of Kimi, a former classmate, and Rui, a boy she meets in a local bookstore, the three friends form a band, bonding over their shared love of music. Together they travel, create, and perform, navigating challenging self-realizations through the unity of friendship and the joy of creativity. The Colors Within is a soothing coming-of-age tapestry of visual and aural delights, championing tender vulnerability, kind curiosity, and the divine wonder of self-expression.
