My Life in Versailles

Directed by Clémence Madeleine-Perdrillat, Nathaniel H'limi

After her parents are killed, 8-year-old Violet is sent to live with her Uncle Regis, a burly man who smells aggressively of cleaning products. Regis happens to live at the Chateau de Versailles, where he works as a caretaker. At first, Violet is miserable. She misses her parents and has nothing to say to this stranger she now finds herself living with. As she gets to know Regis and her new home, however, Violet discovers secrets beneath the surface of both, and she learns that the only way to conquer grief is through love.

Content advisory: parental death, mention of terrorist attacks, grief.
